This spring, thanks to the generosity of our donors and volunteers, the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation is proud to announce that over $1.5 million in scholarships have been awarded to students across our region.
Behind every scholarship is a story — an individual ready to take the next step toward their goals and a community that believes in their potential."One of the most inspiring aspects of this work is learning how the students in our communities hope to make a positive impact on the world around us," said Peter Pfankuch, Community Impact Specialist at the Community Foundation. "I'm astounded by their passion, curiosity, and drive and feel grateful for the opportunity to recognize this inspiring work through scholarships."Students have been notified of their awards, and many will be recognized during their local high school's scholarship ceremonies in the coming weeks. These events offer a meaningful opportunity to celebrate their hard work and aspirations alongside families, educators, and community members.Since 1982, the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation has awarded more than $27 million in scholarships to students across the region — a testament to the incredible power of community investment in education.Each year, the Community Foundation offers over 70 separate scholarship opportunities, helping students pursue their educational goals and achieve their dreams.We are deeply grateful to the volunteers who contributed over 900 hours to reviewing applications and selecting recipients. Their thoughtful work helps ensure that every scholarship honors the resilience, talent, and potential of students across the region.
