We know a name change can bring up questions—and we’re here to make sure you feel informed and supported every step of the way.

While our name and visual identity have changed, our commitment to you hasn’t. We’re still dedicated to helping students pursue their dreams through education and opportunity. Our updated name simply reflects more clearly who we are, the region we serve, and the future we’re building together.

Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about the rebrand and what it means for your scholarship. If you don’t see your question here, please reach out—we’re always happy to connect.

How do I access my scholarships?

This process hasn’t changed and you can still view your scholarship information on the same portal here

Do I need to notify my school?

No. We’ll notify your school when we send your scholarship check to them.

Do I have to reapply for a renewable scholarship?

No. Just fill out the renewal form each year through the scholarship portal.

Can my school still cash checks that say DSACF?

Yes. Checks will say Boreal Waters for payments after June 1, 2025.

Will my scholarship be affected by the name change?

No. Scholarship funding, timelines, and requirements remain unchanged.

Will the name of my scholarship fund change?

No. Scholarship funds will retain their original names. 

Do I need to update forms or applications?

No. Keep communicating with us as usual and watch for updated branding in emails and letters. 

Can I still list the Foundation on my resume or bio?

Yes! Please use our new name, Boreal Waters Community Foundation, moving forward.
